The Attorney General of Switzerland
The Attorney General of Switzerland oversees all operational, organizational, and personnel aspects of the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) within the framework of the legal provisions.
He may delegate individual matters to the Deputy Attorneys General, the Acting Secretary General, the Heads of Division, or the Federal Prosecutors to be handeled independently.
The Attorney General of Switzerland and his or her two deputies are appointed by the Federal Assembly.
Since 1 January 2022, Attorney General Stefan Blättler has headed the OAG. On 14 June 2023, Parliament once again expressed its confidence in him by re-electing him with 209 out of 210 valid votes.
The two Deputy Attorneys General of Switzerland, Ruedi Montanari and Jacques Rayroud, were also re-elected for the upcoming term of office from 2024 to 2027.

As a representative of a state governed by the rule of law, it is the duty of the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG), and in particular my duty as the person in charge of this organisation, to guarantee social peace.
